Throughout October 2024, Lite 100.5 WRCH teamed up with the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute at Hartford Hospital and its Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center to “Lite the Month Pink” and raise awareness and nearly $41,000 for the “Take the Time” digital mobile mammography program.
As part of the fundraising campaign, Kloter Farms generously donated $150 for every $5,000 spent. Thanks to the support of their customers, they raised $36,650 to help fund life-saving mammograms.
Hartford HealthCare’s “Take the Time” mobile mammography program serves thousands of women each year and provides free mammograms for those who can’t afford them. In its 20-year history, the program has provided over 30,000 mammograms and helped in the diagnosis of hundreds of early cancers in underserved women.
“We are grateful to partner with Lite 100.5 WRCH on the ‘Lite the Month Pink’ campaign—which brought critical awareness to the importance of regular cancer screenings and providing philanthropic support to the equitable and accessible healthcare we are delivering to our communities,” said Lynn B. Rossini, Vice President of Philanthropy at Hartford Hospital. “The best way to beat cancer is to identify it as early as possible, and thanks to the generous support of Kloter Farms, their customers, and other donors, we are better able to bring our life-saving technology and screenings directly to underserved populations in our region.”
