The Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority (CHEFA) awarded a generous $75,000 grant to support equipment upgrades for Hartford Hospital’s Department of Dentistry.

The department provides comprehensive and emergency dental care, including oral and maxillofacial surgery, to more than 12,700 patients annually. In addition to being a key teaching site for local dental and hygiene students, it also serves all patients regardless of ability to pay—making it an essential resource for community health and Connecticut’s dental workforce.

CHEFA’s grant will fund needed equipment upgrades, expand patient access, and strengthen the department’s commitment to affordable, reliable, and dignified dental and oral care.

“We are grateful to CHEFA for being an incredibly generous and dependable partner to Hartford Hospital and Hartford HealthCare,” shared Lynn B. Rossini, Interim Chief Philanthropy Officer for Hartford HealthCare. “Our Department of Dentistry is a vital safety net for underserved communities, and thanks to CHEFA’s substantial investment, our expert dental team has the technology needed to continue delivering positive and equitable outcomes to our most vulnerable patients.”
