The Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute at Hartford Hospital and its Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center are grateful to celebrate the CT Brain Tumor Alliance (CTBTA) for its continued philanthropic partnership—including a $35,000 unrestricted grant supporting oncology care, research, and patient assistance.
The flexible funding within the CTBTA grant is especially impactful, allowing social workers to provide direct financial support for patients’ most pressing needs—including utilities, groceries, household accessibility modifications, medications, childcare, transportation, and other needs. By easing the burden of financial toxicity—the often severe effects of medical costs on a patient’s quality of life—this support enables patients and their loved ones to focus on treatment, healing, and what matters most.
To date, the CTBTA has contributed $475,000 in total support to the HHC Cancer Institute at Hartford Hospital. Through ongoing fundraising efforts, the organization plays a vital role in advancing patient care, supporting innovative research, and easing financial strains on oncology patients.
