Please join us for the mesmerizing Fiddle & Harp, Mindful Self-Compassion guided meditation and storytelling. With special guest, Rev. Ginny McDaniel, PhD.
Featuring Angela Mazur, LCSW, LLC, Gordon Swift, Marcie Swift, M.Ed., NCSP, CMP. Suggested Donation is $10. All proceeds will be donated to the Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center at the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute at Hartford Hospital. Sessions will be held every other month. Sessions are complimentary for all cancer patients and HHC health care workers. However, all are welcome regardless of ability to pay. Angela Mazur, LCSW is a psychotherapist and mindfulness teacher. She holds master degrees in Social Work and Counseling and has trained in the Mindful Schools and the Mindful Self-Compassion curriculums. Theresa Sundt, an internationally acclaimed visual artist, has been a certified colour therapist and proponent of the healing power of color since 2001. Theresa started a clinic for massage and colour light therapy in Brighton England while she continued teaching colour therapy in a creative way in schools and international retreats. A gifted storyteller and meditation facilitator, Theresa has shared many inspirational tales of those who have overcome great adversity with tenacity and courage. Theresa continues to inspire people in mindful, creative and colourful ways through her storytelling, painting and weaving workshops and live events. Gordon Swift, has played in fusion, rock, folk, and country bands, and he led an electric quartet playing original work in New York City for several years. He studied South Indian classical violin in India and holds a PhD in ethnomusicology from Wesleyan University. Gordon blends musical influences from around the world into a distinctively American violin/fiddle style. He has led The Lost Acres String Band for 10 years and performs with Marcie Swift as FIDDLE&HARP. Learn more at: gswift.com
Marcie Swift, M.Ed. NCSP, CMP has been a Certified School Psychologist for over 30 years. In 2002, Marcie earned her certification as a Music Practitioner at the Music for Healing and Transition Program. Marcie uses her harp therapeutically in many venues. “I have offered my therapeutic harp music at the HHC Cancer Centers out of deep gratitude for my doctors and other health care professionals.
