The 35th Auxiliary Benefit Golf Tournament—held on September 16, 2024, at Hartford Golf Club—raised an astounding $506,000, with net proceeds set to support a renovation of the hospital’s surgical family lounge and the establishment of a new Visitor Center.

Last year, Hartford Hospital performed over 38,000 surgeries. This enhanced surgical family lounge will serve as a centralized access point for families and visitors that provides concierge-level service and a comforting atmosphere where they can recharge, rest, meet, charge devices, and check in with the world while they are away from home. More than $8 million has been raised for hospital beneficiaries through the Auxiliary’s golf tournament since it first teed off in 1989.

“The Hartford Hospital Auxiliary is grateful to our 204 golfers, 80 sponsors, 75 generous volunteers, and many partners from Hartford HealthCare and Hartford Hospital for making this year’s Benefit Golf Tournament a triumphant success,” shared Lori Flaks, Co-President of the Hartford Hospital Auxiliary. “The new Surgical Family Lounge and Visitor Center represents a meaningful investment in both Hartford Hospital and our shared community. We are thrilled to provide this needed renovation and enhanced comfort and accommodations to the loved ones and visitors of patients in the hospital’s care.”
