Hartford Hospital celebrated our nursing colleagues on October 22, 2024, as the hospital hosted its first annual Anderson Family Nursing Excellence Awards. This award program was made possible through the generous philanthropic support of the Anderson Family, who value the nursing profession and the outstanding care nurses provide to their patients and loved ones.
Grateful patients Doug and Gail Anderson were inspired to make a gift and create these awards after personally receiving excellent care from Hartford Hospital nurses. They are designed to recognize nurses who were nominated by colleagues, patients, or hospital leadership for demonstrating outstanding care and commitment to their profession. In addition to the recognition, recipients are also provided a generous monetary gift to “do something fun for themselves.”
“Listening to heartwarming testimonies of colleagues who nominated nurses for these awards was inspiring and humbling—and they reminded us how privileged we are to have amazing professionals providing our care,” said Lynn B. Rossini, Vice President of Philanthropy at Harford Hospital. “Thank you, Gail and Doug, for creating this new, wonderful tradition at our hospital, and thank you to all of our nurses for your commitment, sacrifice, and service to our patients and communities.”
