About the Center for Education, Simulation & Innovation
This year we celebrate Hartford HealthCare’s Center for Education, Simulation & Innovation (CESI) at Hartford Hospital as the beneficiary of the 33rd annual Black & Red. CESI is a world-class medical training and education organization with a 20-year history driving healthcare performance and improving patient safety.
CESI is an international destination for training, education and medical device development, located right on the Hartford Hospital campus. At nearly 50,000 square feet, CESI is among the largest and best equipped medical simulation centers in the country.
From new nurses learning to communicate effectively, to physicians training on new technology, to healthcare industry professionals innovating new devices, CESI is a world-class learning center for advanced training, education, research, and development. We provide advanced training to over 21,000 individuals annually, including physicians, nurses, military personnel, first responders, and K9 officers. CESI’s mission is to equip those on the frontlines of healthcare and emergency services with the best training and skills, ultimately enhancing patient care and community safety.
Net proceeds from the 2025 Black & Red will directly support CESI’s investment in cutting-edge infrastructure, state-of-the-art equipment, and expert programming that will allow Hartford Hospital to provide our communities with care that is accessible, affordable, equitable, and excellent.
