At Hartford Hospital, “You Are Never Alone” is more than the message engraved above the entrance—it is a promise that guides everything we do. Our mission to improve the health and healing of all extends far beyond our walls. It reaches into the community in so many ways—in neighborhoods, schools, and homes across the region; places of worship, community centers, and more. Caring for our community is not simply a part of our work; it is the work.

Every day, we meet people confronting extraordinary challenges—chronic illness, housing and food insecurity, unemployment, transportation barriers, and the overwhelming stressors that can make well-being feel out of reach. These realities shape health long before someone steps into a hospital and call for a compassionate, coordinated response.

Proceeds from the 2026 Black & Red will support Health, Healing & Community in the Hartford Region—a comprehensive network of community clinics, mobile health services, outreach programs, and neighborhood partnerships designed to bring care where it’s needed most. Through primary and specialty care, preventative screenings, behavioral health support, and culturally responsive wellness education, this program ensures that every individual and family has a trusted place to turn. This initiative is more than healthcare—it is connection, dignity, and hope. It is standing beside people in moments of vulnerability and reaffirming a core truth of our mission: You are never alone.
