Per the Internal Revenue Code Section 4967, Donor Advised Funds cannot be used for any event-related payments (tickets and sponsorships) that provide goods, services, or other benefits to the donor or any other individual. This also includes ‘Bifurcated Gifts,” meaning you cannot split a single payment for a ticket or sponsorship into a deductible (charitable) and a non-deductible (personal benefit) portion.
