Hartford Hospital Philanthropy offers our sincerest condolences to the family of Sally Anne M. D’Aquila, who sadly passed away on April 1, 2024.

Sally was a generous philanthropic supporter of Hartford Hospital, a strong advocate for healthcare equity, and a great friend to our hospital leadership and philanthropy teams. At the time of her passing, she was serving as our 1854 Society Honorary Chair—a ceremonial leadership role that symbolized her commitment to Hartford Hospital’s future. Additionally, she and her husband Salvatore D’Aquila—also a member of the 1854 Society—created a philanthropic fund at Hartford Hospital that provides financial assistance to women with cardiac diagnoses and their families.

She last spoke to her fellow 1854 Society members at their Annual Meeting in September 2023, where she stated, “An individual’s zip code should not determine their lifespan or how they experience healthcare—we should all be able to live our healthiest lives in the place we call home.”

We thank Sally for her belief and investment in Hartford Hospital—and extend our deepest sympathies to Salvatore and Sally’s family and friends.
